Why buy this home?
Most families strive for a home in a nice area with good schools, that has a space where meal times can be enjoyed together and enough bathrooms that can service the morning rush… luckily this lovely home covers all those bases.
Situated at the start of a no-through road that opens up on to Oakhill Wood, you get an immediate sense of how quiet this location is. “There are some lovely parks for kids and great walks along the North Bucks Way. There is a lovely pub in Whaddon which we frequently walk to, across the fields, with picturesque views – even better in the summer!”
As with most double-fronted houses, there is a central entrance hall with reception rooms off both sides. To the right is the cosy living room that has French doors that lead to the low maintenance rear garden, proving a nice view. Due to the size of the room, the current owners have changed the layout numerous times over the years to keep up with ever-changing lifestyles.
The separate kitchen has been improved by the installation of a breakfast bar with clever additional storage underneath. This now provides the ideal space to ensure the children eat their breakfast whilst making their packed lunches for the day! A further base unit with worktop was also added, and is currently being used as a coffee station! The kitchen also has rear access to the garden and a pantry which provides even more storage space.
The current owners have very cleverly maximised the dining room by installing a custom-built dining table and booth which perfectly match the shape of the room. “We added even more storage under the seating booths as you simply can’t have enough storage space in a family home!”. Lastly, downstairs the WC.
On the first floor is the second bedroom which has its own ensuite and a large walk-in wardrobe making it the ideal space for a teenager who craves their own privacy. This means that the family bathroom needs to only serve the third and fourth bedroom. The third bedroom has built-in storage, whilst the fourth bedroom is a single that could alternatively be used as a study if necessary.
The top floor is dedicated solely to the master suite – the absolute pièce de résistance of this wonderful home. The central staircase provides a natural separate of two areas; one for the bed and the other as a dressing area. Three double windows flood the room with light and are framed by grey wooden shutters which compliment the trendy monochrome theme. The master ensuite is a thing of beauty and, in our opinion, wouldn’t look out of a place in a five-star hotel. Patterned tiles line the floor and are mirrored in the feature wall of the walk-in shower, which has a rain fall shower head. A gorgeous roll top bath is illuminated by the skylight so you can catch a glimpse of the evening sky whilst relaxing. Even the tradtional style radiator that doubles up as a towel rail shows the level of detail the current owners put in when creating this space.
Parking is at a premium on newer developments so you’ll be pleased to hear the house benefits from a garage, which has additional storage space in the rafters, and driveway.
